抄録: A certain city checks the offices of small and medium-sized businesses regularly on the basis of a bye-law to stimulate such firms. The city carried out the second such survey in 2016. This report aims to highlight the meaning of a company’s ability to manage its organization, raise human resources, and coordinate with different businesses, the three elements that drew attention in this survey. Results show that an increase in sales and profits is closely related to the basic activities of the business entity, such as informing the public about corporate policy, maintaining mid- to long-term targets, and preparing an annual management plan. It has also been found that both sales and profits will improve with efforts to upgrade human resources, such as codifying a manual to raise the ability of employees, establishing employment regulations and wage rules, and conducting staff training. In addition, it is indicated that activities to cooperate with other firms are essential.
