抄録: Nine years have passed since the global financial crisis. This crisis marked a turning point, and the financial situation has changed from high to low financial growth. Since the 1980s, financial deregulation and financial globalization had promoted financial growth worldwide, but the global financial crisis changed the situation dramatically. In the new stage of low financial growth era, bank profitability in Europe and the United States has declined dramatically. The drop in profits is especially large, in non-interest income in terms of the source of revenue, in the mega-banks in terms of a bank’s scale, and, regionally, in European banks.
