学生支援における履修相談の機能と役割 ──法政大学キャリアデザイン学部における履修相談の特徴とプロセスの検討を通して──

Abstract

It is the purpose of this study to verify the characteristics and process of an advice on the choice of courses, and to discuss the effects and functions thereof. This study shows that the advice on the choice of courses is a support for students to enable themselves to lean more deeply in the university, in response to their uncertainties or questions. Further, this study shows that students are likely to talk their concerns about campus life when they request the advice on the choice of courses. Therefore the adviser is required to provide a support according to students’ individual situations and environments, assessing their courses that they have already taken, their living environments, fullness of their campus lives, and the like, upon understanding the process of the advice on the choice of courses. With reference to the characteristics and process of an advice on the choice of courses identified by this study, it can be found that the advice on the choice of courses urges the student’s self-awareness and provides the student an opportunity to face their own concerns. And it is expected that the advice on the choice of courses can be the core of student support in the university, since the campus life of the student is expected to become fulfilling by the adviser’s professional support.
